A good way to make connections at Trinity is in a small group.  These groups allow long time members and new arrivals a way to meet in non-traditional ways to develop stronger relationships than can be formed when only attend Sunday morning worship.  We're always open to starting new groups.

Would you like some friends along on your faith journey? grouppic

What is a small group?

A small group is several people (usually between 6-12) who meet together on a regular basis around a particular faith-based focus.

Who participates in a small group?

All are welcome.  We have young folks, older people -- married, single, widowed, divorced -- parents or not or empty nesters -- members and non-members --people who are struggling, people who have found their way.  Some are Cradle Rollers, some have just joined Trinity - some aren't even members!

There are no requirements for "Bible literacy, " there are no "right" answers, and there are no tests! All that is required is a desire to connect with others -- short term or long term -- as we make our respective faith journeys.

What are some ideas for a new small group?
  • a group formed around the experiences of retirement
  •  a group for married couples without children
  •  an evening group for parents of small children
  •  an evening Bible Study
  •  a group formed around a particular vocation, such as law enforcement or teaching or health care
  •  even an "electronic/online" Small Group that would meet occasionally in person but communicate more often via an online bulletin board!

Maybe you have some other ideas or topics you think would be helpful and interesting to yourself and others in your faith journey - we hope you do!

Past Small Groups have focused on such topics as Stress, Prayer, Women of the Bible, The Loss of a Loved One, Discovering God's Will, and Gifts and Calling.  There are many study guides and resource books available to us to help structure any new group - or groups. Specific books of the Bible - living peacefully in a violent world - and other social and spiritual issues.

There just is no end to the possibilities for increasing your faith - and your friendships - through Small Groups at Trinity.

If you are interested in joining a current Small Group, if you are interested in one of the topics described above, or if you have other ideas entirely, please call the church office.
