Lay/Service Ministries
S150. Board of Lay/Service Ministries Serve on Board of Lay/Service Ministry. S151. E-Mail Prayer Support A distribution list of those willing to pray is administered in the office. E-mail messages are sent out to those who have asked to be on the list when prayer requests are received. S152. The Visitors A group who visits homebound and others on a regular basis. The group meets every other month to share information. S153. Tape Ministry Tape and duplicate audio tapes of the worship services for distribution to shut-ins and others. Weddings and funerals are taped if requested. S154. TransportationAs needed for attendance at worship services, church activities, medical appointments, etc. S155. LanternThe Lantern is the official publication of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Congregation. This newsletter is published and distributed about once a month to members and friends of the congregation. Place articles in the Lantern mailbox in the Library or email to lantern@trinitymthealthy.org S156. Stephen MinistersPersons with 50 hours of training equipping them to help people work through problems and issues. Potential care receivers are suggested by pastoral staff and are visited before a Stephen Minister is assigned. S157. Meal CoordinatorAssist with organizing meals when needed. S158. Altar Rose DeliveryVolunteers who deliver altar roses (used to announce births and deaths) to families when needed after the worship service. S159. WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America)
S200. WELCA Board Serve on WELCA Board. S201. Funeral Meals WELCA offers the loving service of providing a meal for bereaved family and friends following a funeral service. Congregational members provide food and serving/cleanup for these meals which are held in Trinity Hall. S201. Prayer Chains The Circles have prayer chains. These are used whenever someone has a special need, joy, sorrow, etc. which is committed to prayer. Prayer chains are usually started from the church office but you are welcome to call the leaders directly. While the present prayer chains are centered in the circles, any member of Trinity is welcome to participate. S202. Mother Daughter Banquet WELCA sponsors an annual Mother-Daughter Banquet -usually held in late April or early May. S203. Golden Age Event WELCA sponsors an annual luncheon event to honor Trinity members 70 years and older. This event is usually held in September or October. S204. School Kits WELCA gathers school supplies based on a list from Lutheran World Relief. These supplies are used to put together school kits to be sent to Lutheran World Relief for distribution where needed most. S205. Health Kits WELCA gathers health supplies based on a list from Lutheran World Relief. These supplies are used to put together health kits to be sent to Lutheran World Relief for distribution where needed most. S206. Joy Circle One of two Circles which meet monthly for Bible study, stewardship activities and fellowship. Joy Circle meets on the second Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m.. S207. Faith Circle One of two Circles which meet monthly for Bible study, stewardship activities and fellowship. Faith Circle meets on the first Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m.. S208. Thank Offering Sunday Participate in worship services for Thank Offering Sunday by ushering, reading the lesson, or preaching.
Stewardship
S250. Board of Stewardship (1x month) Manages finances and stewards the gifts and various funds of the congregations, including Trinity Tomorrow Fund used for improvement of facilities and future needs and creative outreach for special needs. Prepares annual budget to present to the congregation.

Muffin Ministry (1x/mth) Muffins, cookies, or flowers are delivered to visitors within one week of first visit to Trinity. S304. Assist residents in finding community resources to meet their needs, provide support with medical appointments and hospitalizations, provide assistance in dealing with emergencies.S406. Liaison to PPC(1x/month) A volunteer to keep council informed of activities, residents, and issues. S407. Rent Collection(1x month) Collect rent checks, contact residents when late or not paid, and take checks to church office. S408. Thank You Cards(6-8x year) Write thank you notes to people who donate with time, talents, and finances. S409. Change of Residents(1-3x year) Volunteers to clean, paint, shop for needed household items, contact City of Mt. Healthy to notify them of resident changes, contact utilities to notify them of billing changes, meet with new residents to review and sign criteria statement, and assist with moving them into or out of the apartments. Usher Men, women, youth are needed to provide various assistance including to hand out bulletins before the service, pass out friendship pads, take up the offering, and assist at communion at each service. S453. Assisting Minister (6x/year) Lay persons trained to help lead worship assisting with liturgy, prayers & communion at 8:30 & sings at 11:15. Assisting with reading the lessons & gospel, prayers and communion at 9:45. S454. Communion Distribution (6x/year) Assist in serving communion at Break Out! 9:45 S455. Service Coordinator (1 year) Contact volunteers to be ushers, or assisting ministers for a specific service. S456. Communion Ministers (1x/mth) Persons trained and commissioned to take communion from the worship service to those who are homebound or in extended care. S460. Worship Planners Committee (6x/year) Reviews scriptures for each Sunday, assists in development of themes for worship, and assists in planning worship services. S461. Chancel Choir (1x/week) Provides special music and assists in leading of songs and liturgy at the 8:15 and 11:15 services. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:30pm. S462. BreakOut! Singers (1-2x/week) Leads worship and provides music for 9:45 service. The band generally rehearses once a week on Saturdays at 9:00am. S463. BreakOut! Musicians (1-2x/week) Provide accompaniment for singers on various instruments. The band generally rehearses once a week on Saturdays at 9:00am. S464. Special Music (1-2x/year) Volunteers are needed to provide special music at the 8:15 and 11:15 services on Sunday during the year when the choirs are not singing and during the summer. S465. Bell Choir (1x/week) Provides special music on a periodic basis once or twice per month at the 8:15 & 11:15 services. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm. S466. Substitute Musicians (1-2x/year) Volunteers are needed for piano and organ as well as other instruments for when regular players are unavailable. S467. Musicians (Vocal or Instrumental) Willing to provide vocal or instrumental music to enhance worship. S468. Dance Willing to provide special dancing to enhance worship. S469. Christmas Pageant Assist with the planning & production of the Christmas Pageant by the choir including assigning, fitting, and sewing of costumes, setting up the set, applying make-up, and running the light and sound systems. Administration
S700. Parish Planning CouncilParish Planning Council is comprised of elected officers, appointed officers (recording secretary and treasurer), Board Directors and Staff. The Council meets monthly and as needed. S701. Executive TeamConsists of the President and 2 Vice Presidents of the PPC, Pastor, Parish Worker, and two past vice presidents. Meets monthly on third Thursday of the month. S702. Personnel CommitteeThe Personnel Committee consists of 5 members of the congregation who are appointed by the president of the PPC and are responsible to the president. Their responsibilities include maintaining staff responsibilities and vacation schedules; conducting annual reviews of staff performance; making salary recommendations and interviewing new staff. S703. Nominating CommitteeConsists of 6 voting members of the congregation elected at the October congregational meeting. Nominates candidates for various offices and board positions. S704. Leadership TeamThe Leadership Team consists of the elected officers, board chairmen, staff and congregational leaders who meet to pray, plan and look at the direction the congregation is moving. S705. Leadership RetreatsLeaders of the congregation spend retreats praying, planning and looking at the direction the congregation is moving. Via de Cristo Reunion Groups: Via de Cristo is a movement among Lutherans that has its roots in the Roman Catholic “Cursillo” (“short course”) movement in Spain. After a VDC weekend, one of the primary ways to stay in and accountable on the journey of faith is to meet regularly with others around the topics of study, piety and action. The groups are open to anyone wanting to attend to the faith journey in this way. There are currently three groups meeting:

The team plays on Tuesday nights in back of Winton Woods High School. N405. Bleacher Bunch (softball) Willing to cheer the softball team on! N406. Rafting Trip Interested in joining the rafting trip for lots of adventure. N407. Sailing Trip Interested in joining other people in a wonderful and awesome sailing trip. N408.
