¨ Sunday June 6 is the last day of
2009-2010 Sunday school.
It is good for summer to be a time of rest and
renewal for teachers who have served and for those who
are interested in serving anew to have time for
discernment.
This summer Sunday school will have a number of Sundays
that will be a ‘Family Sunday school’ where families
will have the opportunity to grow in faith together.
If you have any ideas or hopes for what a summer
family Sunday school might look like, please share them
with me.

Over the
summer Confirmation and Sr. High youth are encouraged to attend
Adult Sunday school sessions as their summer Sunday school
experience.
Younger
kids will have a variety of opportunities on their own and with
parents to explore their faith in new ways from watching and
discussing videos to music to cooking and other activities.
Watch the Lantern and bulletin inserts for upcoming special
summer Sunday school opportunities for younger kids and
families.
Adult
Sunday school resumes June 6th
with discussion and presentation about
The
Five Love Lan-guages. This is a three week series that
address love languages with spouses, kids and teens, and with
God. Gary Chapman is the author of all three books. Most
bookstores carry copies as does Amazon.com.
ADULTS –
June 24th
following Feed Your Neighbor will be the first book
discussion
of Anita Diamant’s
The Red
Tent.
We will focus on Part I of the book and the similarities and
differences between Diamant‘s narrative and the biblical stories
of Joseph and Dinah‘s lineage in Genesis as well as the female
experience in the biblical world.
Saturday
June 26 at 7pm ALL Confirmation and Sr. High youth (and adults)
are invited to an Ice Cream social with Trinity‘s missionaries,
the Lowdens, in the gathering space. They will share with us
about their experience and work in Tanzania over frozen treats
Sunday
June 27 Trinity‘s campers leave for Lutheran Memorial Camp.
Please keep them in your prayers as their week of fun and faith
unfolds!
SUMMER IDEAS & REMINDERS FOR FAMILIES
If kids aren‘t already out of school, they will be soon and
will be needing things to do…rinity‘s library has just been gone
through, new materials have been purchased, and older books and
videos have been re-claimed—consider visiting the ‗hildren‘s
section‘ outside the Sunday school classrooms to sign out great
faith-based videos, books, and games that the whole family can
enjoy!!
