Bulletin insert, Week of May 8:
Celebrating our Past,
Building on Faith,
Answering the Call
That’s the theme of Trinity’s
Our rich heritage makes us
simultaneously proud and humble -- and allows us to face the future with both
hope and confidence. We are making a leap of faith that we can raise the money
that will make our dream of building come true as we strive to continue the
missions and ministries of Trinity into the future. And we truly believe that
we have been blessed with a call from God to go forward in becoming disciples,
making disciples of others and serving our neighbors. That’s all this campaign
is about after all.
As important as it is to raise
the amount of money needed for our plans, we are committed to keeping the
dollar signs in their place. The dollars we raise are only valuable as means to
a spiritual end. Faith and prayer, outreach and ministry and spreading the
gospel of God’s love amongst ourselves, strangers and
throughout our community are our true Christ-centered
priorities.
That’s why one of the most exciting and essential elements of the Capital
Campaign is the Spiritual Emphasis committee, co-chaired by Nancy Tolford-Peeno and Shawn Nichols. Nancy and Shawn will lead our
promise and our pledge to keep God at the focus of what we are about during
this campaign. They will encourage us to continue praying for guidance and
direction as we journey through this process. They will help us remember that
Trinity is not a building; it’s a faith-filled family -- and it’s a force for
God’s love and service in the world. When day-to-day details or task lists
start to take on a life of their own, the Spiritual Emphasis committee will
help us remember that God is in the details, and our only “task” is to love God
and love others (and each other) as ourselves.
